Physical Activity is Picture Perfect

One Voice Blackburn took part in an exclusive photography event to highlight the work of the group.

The aim of the photoshoot is to develop a photo-library of people being active outdoors.  The library will be used by Active Lancashire, Together an Active Future and their selected partners which include local councils, leisure trusts and health care providers.  The photos will also be used in printed documents, on websites and on social media.

The photo shoot shows people from all backgrounds being active in the park including walking, running, cycling, and playing games. Those that took part were not expected to have a certain level of fitness, everyone was welcome, irrespective of ability. They wanted to capture ‘real’ people who reflect Lancashire.

The team explained that during the lockdown period everything that was being shown on social media was not a true reflection of how people stayed active. Outdoor activity was on the rise in public places but this was not seen or highlighted.

The images represented the people of Lancashire to highlight how the vast population stay active with their friends and family.

A group of 12 individuals including parents from One Voice Blackburn attended the photo shoot. They took part in various sporting activities such as football, cricket and cycling. The images
also captured everyday activity such as walking.
