West End Girls (WEGs)

WEGs was launched in 2014.
The West End Girls (WEGs) are a group of 10 to 17 year
olds from Blackburn and Darwen. The group’s aim is to develop leadership skills and provide the space for them
to grow and thrive. The girls inspire and motivate each other, creating a positive and affirming atmosphere while also giving back to their communities. WEGs aims to improve the girl’s character, self-confidence and motivation. The groups also plan campaigns on a range of health and social issues.
The WEGs support the local civic activities in the town, and volunteer to support many of the junior groups within One Voice Blackburn.
Activities include; public speaking, a book club, debating society, media opportunities, outdoor excursions, travel and much more.
The girls also visit major cities around the world, as well as produce and edit the 1VTV quarterly bulletins.
