The 1V Cricket Academy was founded in 2017 to provide cricket coaching and development for boys and girls from age six upwards within Blackburn.
Members are supervised by staff who are qualified Level 1 and Level 2 ECB Cricket coaches. Each training session lasts an hour. The emphasis is on fun whilst making lasting friendships, improving health and of course learning how to play cricket. There is also a strong focus on skill development and competitive games at all levels.

Many of the girls and women involved with 1V Netball Club often do not partake in any other form of physical or sporting activity.
Junior Netball
Our junior netball session is run by head coach at West Pennine, Anne Wignall. The sessions are for girls aged between 10 to 16. The session focuses on skill development including footwork, passing drills, and shooting techniques.
There are also opportunities for competitive games both locally and regionally.
A registration fee of £20 is payable for a kit, England Netball membership, and a netball. Session fees are £25 for every 10 sessions.
Set up in 2019 this female only sports group gives members the opportunity to engage in multi sports on a weekly basis. We provide members with the chance to get involved in a range of sports including football, rugby, rounders and much more.
We have qualified coaches in place to ensure sessions are benefitting members to their full potential. The environment is both fun and engaging, but not overly competitive.
We have created unique opportunities for young people to get involved in training opportunities where they develop skills that will enable them to lead and manage sports sessions in the future.
Recently the girls have been engaging in rugby sessions alongside Blackburn RUFC with much success. The majority of sessions take place at Blackburn Youth Zone.
