Madrassah Club
Delivered by One Voice Blackburn in partnership with Blackburn Youth Zone, the Madrassah Engagement Programme has quickly become a strong example of what can be achieved when local organisations work together with faith settings to support young people in meaningful and positive ways. The programme was created with a clear purpose: to engage young people in safe, inclusive, and enjoyable environments, while supporting their physical wellbeing, creativity, confidence, and social development. By working directly within madrassah settings, the project meets young people where they are, helping to build trust and strengthen relationships between families, mosques, and youth services.
Sessions are led by members of the 2020 Vision group alongside Blackburn Youth Zone staff and youth workers, providing young people with the opportunity to develop leadership skills while mentoring and supporting their peers. The programme also connects madrassahs with wider community groups and local initiatives, creating further opportunities for young people across Blackburn with Darwen to learn, grow, and engage.
