Prestigious Brands Sponsor ‘Unique’ Event

The 1V Awards Dinner has announced its headline sponsors for 2023.

Together Housing Association & Newground Together, both based in Blackburn, have previously been involved with the dinner and awards hosted by One Voice Blackburn.

One Voice Blackburn is a charity that aspires to create cohesive, aspirational and confident communities in Blackburn with Darwen. This will be the tenth annual dinner, hosting the 1V Awards. It will take place at King George’s Hall in late February 2023.

The event comprises of work celebrated by the charity, key note speakers, the 1V Awards, entertainment and concludes with a three-course meal. The 1V Awards Dinner is regarded as the largest and most prestigious community gathering in Blackburn with Darwen.

The 1V Awards Dinner was last held in October 2021 after numerous COVID-19 interruptions and was described as ‘breath-taking’ and ‘highly emotional’.

The 1V Awards Dinner was first held in 2013. This will be the 10th awards dinner held by the charity which also carries out community engagement work, consultation and events.

There will be seven awards presented on the evening of the 1V Awards Dinner, including the Aya Hachem Young Person of the Year, Group of the Year, man and Woman of the Year, Health Award, and the John Roberts Outstanding Achievement Award. The Leader’s Award is sponsored by Blackburn with Darwen Council.

They are two of the most prominent brands in Blackburn with Darwen and it is truly a privilege to have our event associated with them. The 1V Awards Dinner has grown in each of the last ten years, and we are absolutely thrilled to have increased the number of awards. There is so much talent and achievements in Blackburn with Darwen worth celebrating, and this is the ideal gathering to showcase al that is good about our town. There is a certain amount of expectation and anticipation at our events and as a result we challenge ourselves to produce something unique.”

The biggest community awards event in Blackburn with Darwen returns in February 2023. The 1V Awards Dinner, sponsored by Together Housing & NewGround, will take place at King George’s Hall in Blackburn on Saturday 25th February 2023.

The showpiece event will feature the workof One Voice Blackburn charity, key note speakers, and include six 1V Awards as well as the much-coveted Leader’s Award.

The last 1V Awards Dinner took place in October 2021 following a break of 18 months due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

One Voice Blackburn is a charity that aspires to create cohesive, aspirational and confident communities in Blackburn with Darwen. It was set up in 2011 and won the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service in 2018.
